A Place to Wonder, Believe & Belong
At St. Luke’s, our Episcopal identity shapes the way we understand childhood and the way we educate children. We believe every child is created with inherent worth and deserves a childhood filled with wonder, belonging, meaningful questions, and opportunities to grow.
As an Episcopal school, we are guided by a tradition that values faith, reason, community, inclusion, service, and the dignity of every person. These foundations shape a school where children are encouraged to wonder, explore, listen, think deeply, and engage with the world around them.
We welcome students and families of all faiths and backgrounds. You do not have to be Episcopalian to be part of St. Luke’s. We invite every student to learn about faith, explore their own beliefs, and participate in the spiritual life of our community with openness, curiosity, and respect.

Weekly chapel gives our community time to worship, reflect, listen, celebrate, and be together. Our worship is intentionally welcoming, and parents are always invited to join us.
WORSHIP
we gather together

Through religion classes, students encounter Scripture, Christian tradition, and stories of faith in age-appropriate ways. We encourage children to wonder, ask questions, hear different perspectives, and explore their own beliefs.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH
we grow in faith

We believe we are shaped by our relationships with one another. At St. Luke’s, we strive to build a community where every person is known, valued, and cared for—and where students learn to listen, contribute, and grow together.
COMMUNITY LIFE

We believe faith calls us beyond ourselves. Through community service projects and servant leadership, students learn that they have a role to play in building a more just, generous, and loving community.
SERVICE
we put faith into action

Godly Play
In Lower School, weekly religion classes use Godly Play, a Montessori-based program that invites children to experience faith through story, imagination, and play. Through hands-on storytelling, play, questions, and reflection, students explore Scripture and discover the wonder of faith.
School History
St. Luke’s Episcopal School first began in 1957 under the direction of
Kay West and Marjorie Hall. At the time, the student body consisted
of only six kindergarteners. One of those students was a
St. Luke’s grandparent, Brookie Allphin.
By 1962, the kindergarten program grew to four sections with over
eighty students. First grade was added in 1970. By 1973, we were
up to fourth grade. Fifth grade didn’t come along until 1992.
Finally, St. Luke’s Middle School was added in 2005.

St. Luke’s Episcopal School is blessed to share a campus and a deep history with St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Our connection to the church is an important part of who we are, providing opportunities for students and families to worship, serve, learn, and grow together in faith.
The church is a welcoming spiritual home for our community and a place where students experience the Episcopal tradition beyond the classroom. Through worship, chapel, service, and shared traditions, our students are invited to explore their faith, ask questions, care for others, and grow into lives of purpose and integrity.
